Come Friday and all the theaters in the city are packed with movie lovers. As per the queries received at Justdial Mumbai, Shootout At Wadala is in the lead by 50% followed by Aashiqui 2 at 25%, Bombay Talkies at 14%, Iron Man 3 at 7% and Fauladi Rakshak at 4%.
Brief Synopsis of the movies:
Shootout At Wadala: Manya Surve( John Abraham) is bright college student from the 70s, who gets wrongly accused and gets jailed. When he is released he decides to take over the underworld. However he has to finish off the rival gang, the Haksar brothers, Zubair ( Manoj Bajpayee) and Dilawar(Sonu Sood). Both Gangs spill a lot of blood to get control of the city. However keen on cleaning up the streets of Mumbai is the trigger-happy cop Aafaque Bagraan(Anil Kapoor). The movie stars Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee, Sonu Sood and Tusshar Kapoor and is directed by Sanjay Gupta.
Aashiqui 2: Rahul Jaykar (Aditya) was once a famous rockstar, but loses it all because of his depression and alcoholism. However hope comes in the form of a budding singer Aarohi (Shraddha) who he falls in love with. He takes her under her guidance to make her the next singing star. However the more successful she becomes the more jealous he gets. The movie stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and is directed by Mohit Suri.
Bombay Talkies : Story 1 directed by Karan Johar: Avinash (Saqib Saleem) is gay and has disowned his family. He befriends Gayatri (Rani) who is in a passionless marriage with Dev (Hooda). However when Avinash meets Dev sparks fly. Is Dev secretly gay? Story 2 directed by Dibakar Bannerjee: Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Purandhar has a theater background and gets a small role in Bollywood, will he become rich and famous? Story 3 directed by Zoya Akhtar: Little Vicky (Naman) is fond of acting up as a girly dancer and his idol is Katrina Kaif, he wants to do a dance item on ‘Sheela ki jawaani’, for a school event but his manly dad won’t let him. Story 4 directed by Anurag Kashyap: Vijay has come all the way from Allahabad, on the insistence of his father to get Amitabh Bachchan to taste a murabba. Will he meet his idol and fulfill his Dad’s wish? The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Katrina Kaif and the directors are Karan Johar, Dibakar Bannerjee, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap.
Iron Man 3: Playboy-philanthropist Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) is suffering from panic attacks after nearly not making it in the Avengers. Just when he thinks he has everything under control he is under attack from a Middle Eastern terrorist called the Mandarin and his army of indestructible (Terminator-T-1000-esque) lava men. Will Iron Man rise to the occasion. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall and is directed by Shane Black.
Fauladi Rakshak: The review is the same as Iron Man 3, this is the dubbed Hindi version.
